DEVELOPING GOOD
COMMUNITY RELATIONS
One of the key objectives of the Temple Bar Company is to work closely with all of the stakeholders in the area particularly The Temple Bar Residents Association. Temple Bar is a shared space with a complex mix of uses working and living side by side in a small but vibrant heavily trafficked city centre community.
We are committed to providing resources to continually improve the local environment for the benefit of all in the community. We will also continue to support local residential initiatives and activities as part of its wider programme of cultural and environmental actions.
CULTURE & EVENTS
Already, Temple Bar is home to two major off-season festivals; TradFest and Festival of Politics. TradFest is Dublin’s largest festival of Irish music and culture bringing thousand of repeats visitors from overseas to Dublin. Festival of Politics is the only such festival of its kind in Dublin and has potential to grow into a substantial festival attracting strong domestic and media interest.
We will continue with our successful Temple Bar Summer Night Markets; Ireland’s only outdoor night market. We also celebrate ethnic diversity within the area, with our Latvia Culture day a huge success.
Going forward, we want to create community led events that foster stronger links between business, culture and residents in the area. The area is rich in architecture too and we want to celebrate our iconic buildings through the ongoing promotion of Temple Bar’s historical heritage.
FOOD TOURISM
Establish Temple Bar as a dedicated and leading high quality food tourism destination within Dublin city centre. Retain and attract further innovative quality restaurants/ ethnic eateries within the area and build upon the already strong cluster of food driven establishments.
PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Since 2003, the Temple Bar Company has engaged in public affairs and lobbying on behalf of Temple Bar. This has taken on a more significant role in recent years. The Temple Bar Company is focused on tackling and discussing issues that impact on the city and Temple Bar.
We will persist in monitoring issues that could have a negative impact on the area and to prevent Temple Bar from becoming a public dumping ground.
COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING
The Temple Bar Company will continue to act as a voice for the area communicating our aims and objectives to media and stakeholders. We do this through a wide variety of marketing channels including digital marketing, the development of a Temple Bar App, and overseas and domestic promotions. We will market Temple Bar as a leading mixed use cultural, commercial and entertainment district to audiences at home and abroad.
Our goal for 2020 is to make Temple Bar Ireland’s first free wifi-zone. This will entail ease of navigation for visitors to the area who are informed on our rich heritage and offerings with the touch of a button. It provides the company with more accurate readings of visitors to the area and a map of movement through the quarter.
